This semester the theme of the course is "uncovering what's inside". All projects will deal exclusively with this topic. Therefore,
other AR projects are not possible this semester.
In the practical AR course, you will dive into the fascinating world of
augmented reality to represent processes happening around us in everyday life and explain
them visually directly on the object or the environment.

This course will consist of weekly lectures and bi-weekly tutorials, in which you will develop a game prototype in small groups.
The lectures focus on game design content such as Game Design 101, balancing, prototyping, and player psychology. In practical tutorials and exercises, you will learn game development with Unity3D and ultimately build game prototypes that are developed iteratively in groups using Unity3D.

The practical provides an introduction to network and interaction programming for fully immersive Virtual Reality (VR) Head-Mounted Displays (HMDs) using Unity3D. During the semester, the theoretical foundations of VR and basics of programming for VR applications will be learned in by-weekly lectures. The practical will be accompanied by a group project spanning the semester and an additional block-week in the lecture-free period, during which the projects will be finalized and presented.
VR hardware and PCs for the block-week will be provided. A laptop is required to participate in the tasks throughout the semester.
This course is suitable for master students of media informatics/computer science. Basic knowledge of C# or prior experience with Unity is necessary.
