This class will explore how U.S. and Canadian comic-book and graphic-novel artists have written (and of course drawn) history. There is a rich body of material dealing with diverse topics, like Civil Rights, Native American History, 9/11 or Labor History, Japanese Internment, and the Holocaust. In our analysis we will consider how these histories are different from traditional history writing and why that may be the case.
