Prof. Dr. Uwe Lübken

Office Hours: after class and/or by appointment (in person, phone, Zoom, etc.)

Course Description:

This class will look at various theoretical and methodological approaches towards (North American) Cultural History. We will scrutinize the significance of central analytical categories such as race, class, gender, able-bodiedness, etc., and focus on several important "turns" in the writing of history (social, cultural, visual, spatial, material). One key question of this class will be how history is being written and by whom.
