Jewish Global Migration and Cinema. This course will focus on how films have portrayed Jewish migration stories in a global context including European migration to places such as the United States, England, Canada, Argentina, Australia, and Israel. The course will also focus on cinematic treatments in documentary and narrative film about Holocaust survivors as migrants, film about urban to suburban migration in different national contexts, refugee stories about Jewish communities in places such as China and Cuba, and contemporary films about Ethiopian migration to Israel, and other films about diasporic migration in the 21st century.
