The course Control and Resistance in a Digital Era: An Introduction to Key Issues and Debates takes up important strains of contemporary thinking about politics, economy, and society in a digital age. Introducing concepts and theories that enable a better understanding of freedom - control dynamics characteristic of digital networks in a late-modern capitalist era, we identify key challenges, threats, and opportunities inherent in recent technologically facilitated transformations.

The course was developed in a cooperation between LMU Munich (Schamberger) and UiT - The Arctic University of Norway (Pötzsch). In its digital form, it consists of a series of 6 video lectures and assigned tasks and exercises.

Comprehensive introduction (block course) on how to conduct online surveys using the software SoSci Survey. This courses is for BA, MA and PhD students.

You can do this course whenever you like, i.e., you can always watch the videos and access the training materials. This course is open for everybody who wants to do online surveys. Just use the enrolment key "sosci".

Our focus is on uses of online surveys in general, and more specifically on creating an online questionnaire with the software SoSci Survey. We will also go through enhanced applications, such as filter questions, multimedia stimuli, online experiments (mostly on Tuesday). And of course, we will address practical issues in everyday research, depending on the participants' interests. Participants should have basic knowledge about questionnaire methodology (what is a hypothesis, how do I measure it with questions and items?).
